Took the week off except for an hour mountain bike on Monday. (I had President's Day off. Thank you HP!) Tomorrow I am doing a trail marathon at Ft. Yargo State Park. I'm using this race as a supported training run of sorts. It will be nice to run somewhere besides Kennesaw Mtn. I plan on starting slow and staying within my pace although I'd like to be in the front of the pack heading out to avoid any bottlenecks. Estimated pace is 10:30 to 11 for the first 13.1 then 11:00-12:00 until the end. I would love to finish in 4:15 or so but probably will do a 4:30ish. Will have a full hydration bladder , 3 gels and 2 solids, trusty phone with appropriate inspiring musics.
The most difficult this week has been taking off 4 days, more from a mental aspect. Race week is usually this way, be it running, cycling or triathlon.
Also noticing a bit of weight gain over past several weeks though should not be hard to get off once tri season starts.
